COLLODION
1. Collodion is a solution of:
Pyroxylin (5 – 10%)
Diethyl Ether (60-70%)
Ethanol (20-30%)
Caster oil
Camphor
2. Normally a liquid solution. When applied to the surface of a body, it evaporates to leave a thin clear transparent skin.
3. Useful for the protection of minor wounds. Flexible collidion allows the skin to stretch a little more.
4. In the 1840’s began being used for photography and is still used today for unique effects.
5. Standard filter will do a good job of removing vapors of collodion.
