Ethyne (C2H2)
1. Acetylene, also known as Ethyne is a solution of:
Carbon
Hydrogen
2. Acetylene is a colorless, flammable gas that smells like garlic.
3. It is a compressed gas that is used as a fuel and stored in the liquid state. Also used for cutting/welding metals, and used in the productions of many organic compounds (plastics, etc.).
4. There are no known toxic effects, however, exposure to Acetylene may cause headaches, dizziness, and or shortness of breath.
5. Austin Air Filters have a fairly low capacity for this particular substance. The activated carbon cannot be satisfactorily used to remove Acetylene under normal conditions.
